Excel and Teaching English

Ok folks, so I have been sitting racking my brain for days about how to create an SIMPLE English assignment that utilizes Microsoft Excel.  I say simple because I have to create a sample student product...and honestly I don't want to do a lot of work on it!  Seriously though....English/Excel....they don't neatly mix in my world...so here I sit typing my blog because I still can't come up with one decent thing.

Since I have nothing going on there let me bore you with my new and improved workout schedule!  I am SO excited!  I am going to MELT the lbs off!  Haha!!

So I determined that since I will hopefully be teaching next year I need to get myself in the habit of getting up early again and what better way to do that than to go to some early morning classes!  So Tuesday and Thursday I am going to go to 6:00 am Pedal and Pump (Spin with weights) and Pilates Fusion.  Monday's I am going to try to work in a Bikram's Yoga class to get rid of all the weekend toxins and get my muscles ready for all the hard work they will be doing the rest of the week...Also, what better way to start a Monday...nice, calm, mind clearing, stress relieving yoga....ahhhh.....   Wed, Fri, and Sat (morn) will be evenings of Zumba, Step, or Jazzercise.  Go ahead, make fun but Jazzercise actually rocks I am excited to get in a "forever" class so I meet some friends!

I am excited about classes because I have to workout by myself, one, because my husband is an adorable yet lazy guy...he says: "I have worked very hard to grow this belly..." (PLEASE!) and two, because my one workout buddy got a treadmill for her house (lucky!  my husband, yeah the one that doesn't work out, made us get an exercise bike...pretty sure it has a foot of dust on it from lack of use!) and three anyone and everyone else who said they were going to join the Y and start working out totally hasn't even sort of done that!  So, I am introducing myself to the instructors and making friends so I feel like I have some accountability and just maybe I will make a friend or two!

Where was I?  Oh yes, getting up early...I am going to get up at 5 every single week day, class or no class, to get myself into a routine!   Okay, I have set forth my plan. You have all read it.   So if you read hat I have slacked leave me nasty comments about following through!

One more thing....I am SO glad it is Spring...but the Nellio has allergies...why oh why!  She takes after me!

Live well today,

B

Mayer I please?!?!?!?

So I got incredibly lucky and invited by my sweet friend  to go to John Mayer and sit in the 4th row!  The show was so good!  I got to see my cousin and her future husband (shhh it's a secret...she's clueless!  Haha, they have only been dating 10 months but he's it!)  So the set list went like this:

Heartbreak Warfare
No Such Thing
Crossroads
Belief
Perfectly Lonely
Assassin
Stop This Train
The Heart of Life
Ain't No Sunshine
Waiting on the World to Change
Vultures
Half of My Heart > Walking in Memphis (SOOO GOOD)
Why Georgia
Gravity

With an Encore of:
Who Says
I'm Gonna Find Another You (this one is one of my favs!)

The only song I was hoping for that I didn't get was "All We Ever Do Is Say Goodbye"  I LOVE IT...I must be feeling blue because I am digging on the sad ones!

Anyway...here are some horrible pics from my Crackberry...why didn't I take my camera...I DON'T KNOW!!!  DUH!!!

You will notice "Tall guy"  in half of these...him and his tall self were making my crazy!!!!  Anyway!  After all the John Mayyer fun we found ourselves at Silky's for some birthday fun!  And fun it was!  Lovely evening all around!

Thanks friend!

K people, holler at you later!

Patty Cake, Patty Cake...

Ok, bad Brittney I have not blogged again!  So here I go.....

I took a four day weekend last weekend and it was AWESOME!  I went and watched my cousin play tennis and then I stole her away and she played hooky and hung out with me Friday!  We had fun!  We ate delicious sushi:

Pheonix Roll, Spicy Crawfish Roll and Philly Roll

Then we went shopping and drank coffee like good little city girls!  In the midst of all this I decided I wanted to have a baking spree!  So I made my first pound cake, I think it turned out very nice!

I mean just look at that form!  Oh man it was good!!!   I also decided to make my first Bread Pudding.  I used Paula Deen's recipe...it was so good and WAY too rich...so next time I am going to adjust it a little!  Death by sugar and butter is nice but less is more here...

YUM!

This was supposed to be a bourbon sauce but I made a whiskey sauce instead....it was divine!

My serving....I could have literally dropped dead from sugar intake!

So the weekend is upon us and there is a lot going on!  More on that tomorrow!  For now...back to work and then off to run in the fields with the Nellio pup!  It's a beautiful day out there...don't miss out!!!!!

Re-Re-Re-REBA!!!!!

OH. MY. GOODNESS.   Reba rocked my face off last night....rocked it off!

First the woman is 55 and she is GORGEOUS...see for yourself:

So last night was a blur of me feeling like I was 15 again...but here's what I know:

Reba sang all the songs you hope someone of her stature will sing for you...the ones you know by heart and sing in the shower at the top of your lungs!

Walking into the Forum the conversation went like this...

Brittney: "Wouldn't it be the coolest thing ever if Reba sand 'Does He Love You" with Leann Womack?"
Beka: "um, yes!!!"

And then...IT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I FREAKED OUT!   I don't guess I should like a song about a wife and a mistress...but man alive that song is good!

We also had the privilege to hear:

The Greatest Man I Never Knew
I Keep On Loving You - Beautiful new song written by Ronnie Dunn (you know Brooks and Dunn..that guy!)
Does He Love You
 I'm A Survivor...let me pause here...

Barbara Jean (Melissa Peterman) made an appearance!  She was Hysterical!  Two favorite things she said:

Barbra Jean hands Reba her bottle of Bud light and says:
"HEY...The Queen of Country is holding the King of Beer!"
Reba says:  "Barbra Jean are you going to be quiet?"
Barbra Jean: "Oh yes!  I will be as quiet as any blonde whose had 5 beers can be!"

So funny!  So Good!

So there's was tons of other awesome Reba music....which is alluding me right now because unlike my friend Beka I didn't take notes!  Haha!  She is the best!

So to close out....we got.....drum roll please.....

Reba in a Red Sequence dress with RED heels....singing...come on you know the answer....

FANCY!

Oh man.....oh man!

Ok that's all the excitement I can handle right now.....Does He Love You...listen to it, love it!

Puppies on Parade!

Oh man did we have a big weekend at the Otey's!   We had 2 dogs and one baby!  MY GOODNESS!  It was very fun!  The baby was adorable and my husband only freaked out about it once!  YEA!  Too many babies for him in one weekend.  Our friends got a early baby surprise this weekend as well, Grayson Michael Meredith has joined us!  He is PERFECT...I love him!  All 7 lbs and 6 ounces of his cuteness!

More on babies later this post is for the pups!  Man did they have a good time.

Friday:  All play, there was no sleeping until it was bedtime...I mean NO sleeping.  They played out in the sun a while and got thoroughly grassy!

Saturday:  Lick the baby, wrastle, lick the baby, play outside (still no sleeping!), lick the baby on the mouth (ew, although Davis thought it was HILARIOUS!).

Sunday:  Play outside....at some point a dark started howling like it was dying, I ran outside I thought it was Nellie just wanting back in...it was actually Sugarbear sitting in the middle of the yard howling at the wind...it was SO funny, scary when I didn't know what was going on, but hilarious once I gathered myself!  She must have been calling for more friends!!!  AND FINALLY THEY SLEPT!  They slept like ALL afternoon together in one bed, so sweet!

Here is a brief photo gallery of their adventures:

Why are we outside?

This is sorta fun!  Come on Sugarbear!

Looks SO good!  Works too!

I think this is girl talk...they just sorta stopped...ha

Sugarbear LOVED that rug!  Nellie has no clue why!

Oh!  Camera!  I should lick that! Sugarbear is a big fan of the couch!

Tug O War (not sure we could ever declare a winner!)

Really, one bed is enough...we both fit!
